The average tenure for a CIC employee today is over a decade, with a majority holding advanced degrees and articulating comfort with living in Venezuela. At CIC, the initial employment contract is for two years for overseas teachers and one year for local hires. Salary and benefits are consistent with schools in the region.

Usually, the hiring cycle at CIC begins 1 January for the following school year, and the CIC superintendent attends various recruiting fairs internationally each spring.
